Vol. 384 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Requirements Imposed on Business.

206.

asked the Minister for Labour the regulation, practice and information requirement which has been modified by his Department as a result of the decision of the Government last May that each Minister review all such regulations, practices and information requirements which have a cost impact on business and industry.

A review of the legislative and administrative burdens imposed on business by the Department and the agencies under its aegis commenced in mid-April. This was completed and forwarded to the Minister for Industry and Commerce for consideration by the Industrial Costs Monitoring Group in early June. To date, my Department have not received a formal response to this report from the Industrial Costs Monitoring Group.

I will consider what action, if any, I should take when I have received this response and have had an opportunity to discuss any proposed changes arising from the report with interested parties.
