Vol. 384 No. 5

Written Answers. - Lisavaird (Cork) School Extension.

251.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the commencement of the extension of Lisavaird national school, County Cork; and the timetable for commencement and completion of the work.

The reason for the delay in the commencement of the extension to Lisavaird national school, County Cork, is set out in the reply which I gave the Deputy to his question of 27 January 1988. The position has not significantly changed since then in relation to my Department's 1988 capital allocation for the national schools building programme, and accordingly I am not in a position to give a timetable for the commencement and completion of the proposed work at this school. The school authority's application for grant-aid is, however, being considered in connection with my Department's 1989 capital allocation for the programme referred to, in conjunction with other applications also being reviewed.
