Vol. 384 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Requirements Imposed on Business.

81.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the regulation, practice and information requirement which has been modified by his Department as a result of the decision of the Government last May that each Minister review all such regulations, practices and information requirements which have a cost impact on business and industry.

A report setting out the position of my Department on the easing of the burden of administrative and legislative requirements on business and industry has been sent to the Department of Industry and Commerce.

The report does not recommend any specific changes at this stage and concludes that the major liberalisation measures pursued generally in the transport sector are ensuring that no excessive burdens are being placed on industry.
