asked the Minister for Finance the amount spent on coastal erosion protection schemes in each of the last three years; and his proposals for expenditure in the area for 1989.

Expenditure from the Vote for the Office of Public Works on coast protection in each of the last three years was as follows:

The allocation to the Commissioners of Public Works for coast protection in 1989 is £150,000 and, a full programme of works is being prepared at present.
