Vol. 384 No. 7

Written Answers. - Clare Road Funding.

58.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for special funds to be applied to the Ennis-Ennistymon, County Clare secondary route; and if he will meet a deputation from Clare County Council to discuss the matter.

The question of allocating a road grant for improvement works on the N85 Ennis-Ennistymon route is being considered in the context of the published estimates for road grants for 1989.

The block grant and county road strengthening grant allocations for 1989 were notified to local authorities on 25 October 1988. The other road grant allocations will be notified to local authorities in the near future. In the meantime, it is not proposed to meet deputations from any local authorities to discuss the 1989 road grants.
