Vol. 384 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dental Treatment Delay.

65.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry cannot receive urgently required dental treatment and has been informed that it is unlikely that she will receive any treatment while in primary school.

The Southern Health Board organises its school dental service in Kerry on the basis of a rotational visiting scheme whereby the dentist visits each school periodically. It is understood that the person mentioned was absent from school when her school was last visited. The Southern Health Board targets its services on children in specific classes as funds permit and also makes emergency services available at its clinics to all children who are suffering pain.
