Vol. 384 No. 7

Written Answers. - Deaf University Students.

81.

asked the Minister for Education in view of the fact that certain American universities provide a notetaker and an interpreter for deaf students and that a given American university attended by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 16 provides full facilities for the deaf and given that there are no such university facilities in Ireland, if she will make a reasonable grant available to the person in question and other people in this category.

Irish universities are providing facilities for students with disabilities, in so far as is possible within the resources available to them. There are no funds at my disposal from which grants could be made available for the purpose referred to in the Deputy's question.
