asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount paid to farmers under the farm modernisation scheme for each year since 1982; the number and percentage of farms classified as commercial and development for each year since 1982 in each county; the amount paid to farms classified as commercial and development in each year since 1982; the the number and percentage of farms (a) under 50 acres (b) 50 to 100 acres (c) 100 to 200 acres and (d) over 200 acres which have participated in the farm modernisation scheme in each year since 1982.

The provision of a detailed breakdown, on a county basis, of farms classified as commercial and development would make severe demands on staff resources. If, however, the Deputy wants this information in respect of a particular county I will arrange to have it supplied.

Statistics are not kept by size of farm.
