Vol. 384 No. 8

Written Answers. - Lead-Free Petrol Campaign.

190.

asked the Minister for the Environment the cost of the advertising campaigns being conducted by his Department encouraging people to use lead-free petrol; and the advertising firm which is conducting the campaign.

It is estimated that for the period October-December 1988, £29,000 will have been spent on radio and newspaper advertising in regard to the promotion of unleaded petrol. The radio advertising campaign was undertaken by McConnell's Advertising Agency, and the press advertising is placed through Brindley Advertising Ltd., in its capacity as official government contractor for advertisement purposes.
