Vol. 384 No. 8

Written Answers. - Driving Test Centres Statistics.

205.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider providing a driving test centre for the Howth/Baldoyle area, Dublin 13 in order to facilitate people living in this part of Dublin.

There are at present three test centres in Dublin city, viz at Ballymun, Parkgate Street and Churchtown. These centres, which in a general way, serve the north, west and south areas of the city respectively are reasonably adequate for the purpose. For this reason and having regard to the needs of the country as a whole and the constraints on staff resources, I do not propose to increase the number of test centres in Dublin.

206.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of people at present employed in the driving test centres at Churchtown, Parkgate Street and Ballymun, Dublin; and the corresponding figure for (a) 1985 (b) 1986 and (c) 1987.
