Vol. 384 No. 8

Written Answers. - Education Courses for Unemployed.

250.

asked the Minister for Education if it is intended to make wider provision of education courses for the unemployed, based on the positive results of pilot education opportunities schemes in Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Limerick, as promised; and if she will give details of any steps to be taken.

251.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the wider provisions of education courses for the unemployed discussed during August 1988 in view of the positive results of pilot schemes in Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Limerick.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 250 and 251 together.

It is my intention, in agreement with the Minister for Social Welfare, to extend the educational opportunity scheme to ten other centres as soon as the necessary funding is arranged.
