Vol. 384 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Cork School.

277.

asked the Minister for Education if she will return a national school (details supplied) in County Cork to a two-teacher school or amalgamate it with another national school close by, as the parents are very dissatisfied with the present situation.

The continuance of the post of second teacher in the current school year may not be authorised under the terms of the agreement between the Government and the INTO, worked out under the Programme for National Recovery.

The question of the amalgamation of the school with a nearby school is under consideration in my Department at present.
