Vol. 384 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

103.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an installation aid grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no current application to join the scheme of installation aid for young farmers from the person mentioned, who was deemed ineligible under the original scheme. If he makes an application to TEAGASC, his case will be fully considered.

104.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will backdate headage grant payments to 1 September, 1988 for those who had to sell their cattle at this time due to bad weather conditions.

I have no plans at this stage to backdate the concession under which official mart or meat factory dockets for sales of cattle on or after 26 September 1988 were accepted by my Department's inspecting officers for cattle headage payment purposes in disadvantaged areas.

105.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the level of compensation payable to farmers fort reactor cattle; and if he proposes to increase the level of compensation.

The current level of reactor grant payments are tabulated beneath. The Director of ERAD has informed me that the rates of grant are currently under review.
