Vol. 384 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tenant Purchase Scheme.

28.

asked the Minister for the Environment if successful applicants under the tenant purchase scheme for local authority houses, who purchase their houses for cash, are entitled to transfer the property immediately to a member of their immediate family (son or daughter) without having to get permission from the local authority to do so.

The special conditions which require the consent of the local authority to a change of ownership of a house purchased under a tenant purchase scheme apply irrespective of the method of payment involved.
