Vol. 384 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Tipperary Unemployment Statistics.

79.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number registered as unemployed as of 31 October 1988 in the following centres in County Tipperary (a) Thurles (b) Templemore (c) Roscrea and (d) Nenagh; and the total number unemployed in north Tipperary as a whole.

The information requested by the Deputy, in so far as it is available, is contained in the accompanying table. It refers to the position at 28 October 1988. Data on the number of persons unemployed in Templemore are not available as there is no employment exchange located in the town. However, it is estimated that 25 per cent of those registered as unemployed in Thurles reside in the Templemore area.
