Vol. 384 No. 9

Written Answers. - Kerry VEC Teacher Redundancies.

105.

asked the Minister for Education if Kerry Vocational Education Committee had complied with terms of circular 16/88 before offering redundancy to teachers; the names of teachers submitted to her Department by Kerry Vocational Education Committee; the cost of (a) each redundancy lump sum, (b) severance grant, and (c) pensions; and the subjects taught by each teacher.

As far as my Department is aware the County Kerry Vocational Education Committee had complied with the relevant instructions from my Department, including Circular letter 16/88, before making offers of voluntary redundancy to teachers. I would also refer the Deputy to my reply to question No. 151 on 25 October 1988.

Regarding the other information sought, it would not be in accordance with normal practice to supply such details in respect of identifiable teachers.
