asked the Minister for Labour the plans, if any, he has to introduce legislation to secure part time jobs; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 71 together.
As I indicated in my speech to this House on 2 November, 1988, I have initiated a review of the situation regarding part-time employment and, as part of the consultative process, have sought the views of both ICTU and the FUE. I have already had a submission from the ICTU in the matter and I met the FUE yesterday. When I have completed my discussions with both sides, I will decide on appropriate action.
