I am currently examining the final text of a safety, health and welfare at work Bill, 1988. Subject to clearance of some minor textual points and following approval by the Government, I would hope to present the Bill to the Oireachtas during the current session.
The draft legislation would give effect to the main recommendations of the "Barrington" Commission of Inquiry on Safety, Health and Welfare at Work.
