Vol. 385 No. 2

Written Answers. - Funding of Tertiary Health Services.

190.

asked the Minister for Health, within the allocations to hospitals by his Department, if he will earmark specific amounts for national tertiary services in order to ensure that a proper level of care is provided.

The allocations which I am now in the process of advising to the health agencies recognise the key role that the major hospitals must play in the provision of acute hospital services. I propose to reach agreements with these hospitals on the level of service, by specialty, which is supported by these allocations.
