Vol. 385 No. 2

Written Answers. - Finglas (Dublin) School Placement.

224.

asked the Minister for Education, in relation to the recent refusal of St. Laurence's school, Finglas, Dublin 11 to accept a person (details supplied) in County Louth ordered to be detained there by Dundalk District Court on 13 July 1988, the progress which has been made in ensuring that a place is made available for this person and any other such case which might arise in the future.

Finglas Children's Centre was established and is operated under the 1908 Children Act. Under this Act the director of the centre has the right to refuse admission to any boy. The matter is being further pursued and I understand it will be possible to make arrangements for the admission of the boy to the centre.
