Vol. 385 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Limerick Dispensary Post.

71.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the position of dispensary doctor at Bruff, County Limerick, has not yet been filled; the steps he is taking to ensure that it is filled as a matter of urgency; the reason a long delay has occurred; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have made inquiries of the Mid-Western Health Board with regard to this matter. The board has informed me that the post has been offered to three separate general practitioners since 20 June 1988. The delay in filling the post has been caused mainly by the delay of these general practitioners in replying to the offer of the post. The board has informed me that the post is expected to be filled by February 1989.
