Vol. 385 No. 7

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit.

125.

asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in processing the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 for disabled persons maintenance allowance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The payment of disabled persons maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned having regard to all the circumstances of that case.

I have had inquiries made from the Eastern Health Board and have been informed that because of the particular circumstances of this case, it has taken longer than usual to process. I understand that the health board's examination of the case is now virtually complete and that a decision on the application will be made shortly.
