asked the Minister for Justice if any developments have taken place which might alter his intentions with regard to the provision of a Garda substation at Leixlip, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 68 together.
No developments of the kind referred to in the latter question have taken place.
The intention is to lease, rather than build, a premises to accommodate the proposed Garda substation for Leixlip and there are sufficient funds available for this purpose in the current year's provision. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the new substation will be manned from within existing Garda resources in the Ballyfermot Garda district.
