Vol. 386 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hygiene at Pig Processing Plants.

102.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will ensure the inclusion of disinfecting foot baths for those delivering pigs at the IDA/FEOGA grant aided pig processing plants, to avoid the spread of disease.

Use of hygienic facilities available at pig processing plants should afford sufficient protection against the spread of disease. The provision of disinfecting foot baths is not mandatory but would be considered in a disease emergency situation.
