Vol. 386 No. 2

Written Answers. - Garda Sub-Station.

33.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason the promised Garda sub-station for Leixlip, County Kildare, has not been provided having regard to the fact that a premises was identified and agreed to as being suitable for this purpose over a year ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Despite protracted negotiations, acceptable terms for leasing of premises in Leixlip, for use as a Garda substation were not offered to the Commissioners of Public Works. As indicated in my predecessor's reply to the Deputy's questions (Nos. 99, 100, Cols. 91, 92) on 19 October last, a number of other properties are under consideration by the commissioners for leasing purposes.
