Written Answers. - Payment of Pension.

154.

asked the Minister for Defence, in view of the service of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 with the Air Corps, the total amount of service given by this person; in view of the fact that he will be 65 in March 1989, the deferred pension, if any, which will be payable to him on his retirement; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Limerick West): The person involved enlisted in the Permanent Defence Force on 28 August 1940. He transferred to the Reserve Defence Force on 28 August 1949 and was discharged on 27 August 1952. As his total service in the Permanent Defence Force was less than 21 years he does not qualify for a pension under the Defence Forces Pensions Schemes.
