Vol. 386 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Amnesty.

119.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Revenue Commissioners received and accepted post-dated cheques in the course of the tax amnesty in 1988; if so, the total amount involved; and the total available for cashing in 1988.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that they did not accept for the purpose of qualifying for the amnesty any cheque which post-dated the amnesty deadline. It is not possible to state the total amount involved in post-dated cheques accepted for amnesty purposes, which were dated on or before that deadline.
