Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 6. It is also proposed that the Dáil shall sit later than 9 p.m. today and that business shall be interrupted at 10.30 p.m. Private Members' Business shall be No. 33.

Is the proposal for the late sitting today agreed? Agreed.

On the Order of Business, may I ask the Minister for the Environment when it is proposed to resume Committee Stage of the Building Control Bill, 1984?

We are ready to proceed when agreement is reached between the Whips.

Will the Minister for Social Welfare indicate to the House when it is intended to circulate the Social Welfare Bill? Can be Taoiseach say when it is intended to introduce the Bill dealing with derelict sites? Does he expect that the Bill will go through the House before the summer recess?

It will be during this session. It will be available within a few weeks.

The Bill dealing with derelict sites is well advanced.

I would like to raise on the Adjournment the theft of a 16th century manuscript map from the National Library and, more important, the under-staffing of the library which makes the recurrence of such a theft a constant danger.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

Will the Minister for Social Welfare make a statement to the House on the chaos he is creating in the insurance-related dental services in the country?

That is not in order now, Deputy.

In that case I request permission to raise it on the Adjournment.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

When is it proposed to publish the promised legislation on genetic engineering which the Minister for Justice has mentioned a number of times recently?

I hope it will be published very shortly.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the question of bringing the 19th century Dún Laoghaire Harbour into the 21st century and also the subject matter of Dún Laoghaire marina.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the proposed closure of St. Patrick's Hospital, Castlerea.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the urgent necessity for the Minister for the Marine to order a full inquiry into the circumstances that led to the grounding of a 6,000 tonne vessel in Cork Harbour on Sunday night last with consequent danger of serious environmental pollution.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the allegations over the weekend in the public media concerning the hazards caused by the careless disposal of asbestos waste at Portarlington.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the proposed closure of the Teagasc office in Trim, County Meath.

I will be in touch with the Deputy concerning the matter.

When is it intended to take Second Stage of the Shannon Free Airport Development Company (Amendment) Bill, 1988?

This session.

When in this session?

It is a very short session. It will not be much longer.

That sounds like a threat.

(Interruptions.)
