Vol. 386 No. 7

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

121.

asked the Minister for Health when a disabled person's maintenance allowance will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The payment of disabled persons maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for the health board concerned having regard to all the individual circumstances of the case.

I have had inquiries made in this case and have been informed that the applicant is not eligible for the allowance on means grounds. Although he transferred his property to his nephew he retained the rights of residence and maintenance, the value of which is in excess of the income level for DPMA. The applicant has been notified accordingly.
