asked the Minister for Education when payment of moneys will be made to a national school (details supplied) in County Cork for works carried out; and when further moneys will be made available to carry out further urgent repairs.

My Department have recently sanctioned a grant towards the cost of improvement works at the national school in County Cork referred to by the Deputy and payment of the appropriate grant in respect of the works completed satisfactorily will be made at an early date. I will arrange for my professional advisers to give the school authorities the necessary advices to enable them to have the roof works put in hands at an early date.

asked the Minister for Education when financial aid will be made available to a school (details supplied) in County Cork for the provision of a shelter; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the existing shelter is no longer suitable and to the delay already incurred in having moneys made available.

My Department has not received an application for a grant for the provision of a shelter at the school referred to by the Deputy. However, in the light of the statement made by the Deputy regarding the condition of the existing shelter at this school, I have asked that the local architect make a report in the matter. The Department will examine the matter when the report is to hand and then communicate with the school authorities.

asked the Minister for Education when she will approve a grant towards the necessary repair of Rathduane national school, Millstreet, County Cork.

My Department are considering the question of grant aid towards the cost of improvements to Rathduane National School, Millstreet, County Cork and a decision will be conveyed as early as possible.
