In March 1988 I gave approval to the Midland Health Board to equip the first stage of the new development at Mullingar Hospital. The equipping of the building is now proceeding and the board expects to have it occupied by August. I am still awaiting final staffing proposals for the services to be provided at Mullingar in 1989.
