Vol. 386 No. 9

Written Answers. - Hawkins House Refurbishment.

35.

asked the Minister for Health the cost of office refurbishment carried out to date at Hawkins House, Dublin 2, to facilitate his Department's transfer to that premises.

The refurbishment costs for Floors 6, 7, 8 and 9 and part of the ground floor in Hawkins House are £1,430,000 to date.

The full year savings to the Exchequer from offices vacated are conservatively estimated at £1.4 million. These include recurrent annual rental payments plus the sale of two vacated buildings. The decision to centralise the Department of Health in Hawkins House was taken in February 1986.
