Vol. 386 No. 9

Written Answers. - Kilcock, Kildare School Project.

52.

asked the Minister for Education if her Department's architect has inspected the extension of St. Coca's primary school, Kilcock, County Kildare; if the extension is in accordance with the requirements; when payment will issue; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department's architect has inspected the extension to St. Coca's National School, Kilcock, County Kildare, and he has reported that the work has been completed to a reasonable standard. The architect did not have the opportunity of inspecting the work while in progress because the school authorities proceeded with the extension without notifying the Department. Before the application for grant can be considered further it will be necessary for the Department's engineer to inspect the mechanical and electrical installations. The engineer has requested some technical details from the school authorities and when these are to hand he will carry out an inspection.
