asked the Minister for Energy the value of funding available to Ireland under the Valoren programme; the percentage share this represents of the total resources devoted by the EC to the Valoren programme; and the distribution of Ireland's expenditure by type of project.

The total amount of EC funding allocated to Ireland under the Valoren Programme (Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3301/86) is 25 MECU, equivalent to approximately IR£19.25 million.

The total resources devoted by the EC to the programme amount to 400 MECU and Ireland's share represents 6.25 per cent of this. The distribution of Ireland's funds under the programme by type of project is set out in the table below:
