Vol. 388 No. 1

Written Answers. - Searches of Houses and Premises.

32.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of houses and premises searched in each month for the past 24 months; the number of warrants (a) issued under the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, (b) issued by a Garda officer under any other Act, (c) issued by a judge, district justice or peace commissioner, (d) issued but not executed and (e) searches conducted without a warrant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information sought is not readily available and it would not be possible to compile it without the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of Garda time, which could not be justified, given the many other pressing commitments facing the force.
