Vol. 388 No. 1

Written Answers. - Legislation on Telephone Tapping.

34.

asked the Minister for Justice if it is the Government's intention to introduce new legislation on telephone tapping following the review of the position which he has been conducting for the past two years.

As I have indicated in reply to previous questions, I am having the question of legislation to regulate interception of communications examined. Consultations related to this examination have not yet been completed. In accordance with normal practice, any proposals I may have in connection with this matter will be announced in the ordinary way in due course when they have been considered by the Government.
