Vol. 388 No. 1

Written Answers. - Outstanding Grant Payment.

64.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in payment of the final instalment of moneys due in respect of the Waterford national model school extension.

Following receipt and examination of the final account in respect of the extension to Waterford model school, a substantial grant payment was made to the school authorities on 27 February 1989. There is a small balance of grant in hands which will be paid when the mechanical and electrical installations have been inspected and found to be in order.

There was no undue delay in this case having regard to the fact that examination on final accounts is necessarily time consuming.
