Vol. 388 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

65.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a tax free allowance sought in September 1988 by a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not yet issued; and if he will expedite the issue of same.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer has been requested on a number of occasions to submit certain details to enable the correct amount of tax free allowances due to be ascertained. This information is still outstanding.

As the tax year 1988-89 has now ended, the taxpayer should forward her form P.60 — statement of pay and tax deducted — to the tax office, together with the other outstanding information sought by the inspector. This will enable the inspector to review her liability for 1988-89 and to update her tax-free allowances for the current year, 1989-90.
