Vol. 388 No. 6

Written Answers. - Unleaded Petrol.

88.

asked the Minister for Education, in respect of all petrol driven vehicles under the direct control and responsibility of her Department, the steps she has taken to ensure that only unleaded petrol is used by such vehicles; in respect of such vehicles (a) the number of vehicles concerned (b) the approximate number of miles travelled per annum and (c) the date when a decision to use unleaded petrol was taken and implemented; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have had this matter examined in relation to the school transport scheme administered by my Department and I find that buses used in the operation of the scheme are diesel-fulled. Consequently the use of unleaded petrol does not arise.
