Vol. 388 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Offaly Schools' Appointment.

89.

asked the Minister for Education the plans she has for the appointment of a remedial teacher to serve (a) St. Ciarán's national school, Clonmacnoise, (b) Shannonbridge national school and (c) High Street national school, County Offaly, which was recommended in 1986; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Remedial teaching posts are allocated to schools in accordance with a priority of educational need from the existing overall authorised complement of these posts, the number of which is limited because of current financial constraints. It has not been possible to allocate a remedial teacher to serve the schools referred to, but the school's applications will be considered should posts become available in the futue.
