59.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will issue approval for grant aid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork for the installation of a slatted unit and slurry tank; and the reason for the delay in having approval issued.

No application has been received by the Farm Development Service from the person concerned.

60.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford in respect of six suckler cows and approximately 38 calves; and when payment of same will be made.

The person named has been paid his 1988 calf premium and special beef premium grants already. He was however deemed ineligible for grants under the 1988 suckler cow premium scheme because he was engaged in commercial milk production on the date of lodgment of his application and also for grants under the 1988 cattle and equines headage scheme because his off-farm income exceeded £5,200 for the income tax year ended 5 April 1988.

61.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford in respect of 12 suckler cows and 20 calves; and when payment of same will be made.

The person named has been paid her 1988 cattle headage and also her suckler cow and calf premium grants already.

She did not apply under the 1988 EC special beef premium scheme.

62.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a grant for a slatted house to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

The final inspection in this case took place on 15 March. The grant will be paid shortly.
