Vol. 388 No. 8

Written Answers. - Oil Companies' Retail Outlets.

91.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the proportion of retail outlets owned by the major oil companies; and the proportion of petrol sold by them (a) in Dublin and (b) nationally.

At 31 December 1987, company stations of the major international oil companies represented some 12 per cent of the petrol retail outlets in the country.

Sales of petrol by such company stations nationally in 1987 represented approximately 38 per cent of total petrol sales for the year. Details of the proportion of petrol sold by company stations in the Dublin area are not available.
