Because of the action I took on 14 April last, including setting by order the retail and wholesale prices for petrol and auto diesel, there is no additional cost on a gallon of petrol due to the issuing of stamps and tokens by petrol companies. Estimates within the industry of the previous cost impact have varied but the Deputy will be aware that last week's action resulted in the absorption of a 5p per gallon increase that was being sought.
