asked the Minister for Finance if his Department has experienced difficulty in filling the posts of (a) executive officer, (b) staff officer and (c) higher executive officer in the decentralised portions of the Department of Social Welfare in Sligo and the Department of the Environment in Ballina, County Mayo; and, if so, the number of vacancies for these grades which exist in these offices at present.

There are vacancies in the grades indicated as follows: Department of Social Welfare, Sligo, four higher executive officers, 18 executive officers and 17 staff officers; Department of the Environment, Ballina, six higher executive officers, 18 executive officers and six staff officers. These posts are, however, in the process of being filled and no difficulties are anticipated.
