Vol. 388 No. 9

Written Answers. - Restoration Funding.

79.

asked the Minister for the Environment if there are any special grants available to local authorities to do resurfacing/repair work on county and other roads following the laying of pipes for group and other water schemes; and, if so, if he will give details of such special grants.

The cost of road restoration arising from the carrying out of public water supply schemes is charged to sanitary services capital grants provided by my Department. Such costs resulting from group scheme operations are recouped by the local authorities from the groups themselves to whom grants from my Department are paid.
