Vol. 388 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Kerry Turbary Rights.

97.

asked the Minister for Energy if his attention has been drawn to the fact that his Department has sanctioned a grant for a forestry project (details supplied) in County Kerry which interferes with and adversely affects the turbary rights of 22 families in the locality: and the steps he proposes to make alternative turbary rights available to these families.

While advice on planting has been provided in respect of the land in question grant approval has not yet been given by my Department. The question of turbary rights will have to be resolved between the individuals involved as my Department is not in a position to make alternative turbary rights available.
