Vol. 389 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

65.

asked the Minister for Finance if a rebate of DIRT tax will be made in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that no formal claim for a refund of the deposit interest retention tax has been received from the taxpayer for 1988-89. In the circumstances, the appropriate claim form will now be issued to the taxpayer. On receipt of the completed form, together with the relevant certificates of interest paid, his entitlement to a refund of tax deducted will be considered.

A cheque in settlement of the refund due for 1987-88 was issued to the taxpayer on 14 December 1988.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the taxpayer's liability for the year 1988-89 has been reviewed and that a cheque in settlement of the refund due was issued to the taxpayer on 20 April 1989.
