asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether, at any time before the November 1988 meeting of the board of Siúicre Éireann cpt, he discussed with any other company or with the representatives of any other company the possibility of their acquiring part or all of Siúicre Éireann cpt; and whether, if he had such discussions, he disclosed their content to the chairman, the chief executive or the board of Siúicre Éireann cpt.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether either Finn Sugar or Food Industries plc. or both gave an undertaking to retain sugar processing in Thurles in the event of their acquiring part or all of Siúicre Éireann cpt.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a Finnish company first expressed an interest in acquiring all or part of Siúicre Éireann cpt operations; when he communicated this to the chairman and chief executive of Siúicre Éireann cpt; whether he instructed the chairman and the chief executive not to disclose it to the board of Siúicre Éireann cpt; and, if so, the reason.
