Vol. 389 No. 2

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

111.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when the correct rate of unemployment assistance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; the reason the correct amount is not being paid; when investigations were instituted into this case; if this person has supplied all the necessary information; and if so, the reason a decision has not yet been made.

The person concerned is currently in receipt of unemployment assistance at the weekly rate of £80.90 which is the maximum rate appropriate in his case of £98.20 less means of £17.30 derived from the letting of property. His case was sent for reinvestigation of his means on 14 April 1989 and he will be interviewed in the near future by a social welfare officer. On completion of the social welfare officer's report, his case will be submitted to a deciding officer for review.
