Written Answers. - Beef Exports to Iraq.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the amount of payments for beef sold to Iraq outstanding on (i) 31 December 1986, (ii) 31 December 1987, (iii) 31 December 1988 and (iv) 31 March 1989.

Details are not available in respect of beef exports to Iraq which are not insured under the export credit insurance scheme. In regard to insured exports, the amount of payments outstanding to exporters in respect of such exports at the dates specified is as follows:

These figures include amounts in respect of which, in accordance with the contract terms involved, payments are not yet due. The figures concerned are different from and do not compare with figures relating to outstanding export credit insurance liability which have already been provided.
